FAQS
FAQS
How long will it take to receive a proposal back?
I typically tell clients about a week for smaller projects. For a full house remodel or addition, it can be up to a few weeks. Prices are constantly changing, and there is a lot that goes into bidding a large project.
How long will it take to draw plans for my project?
I have an architect who draws all of my plans. The process usually takes about a month from the first meeting with him, to site measurements, to designing the space, to having a drawing set complete.
How long will it take to get a permit?
The City of Tucson and Pima County have been quicker the past year in getting approved plans back. Even with a full house remodel or guest house, we have been seeing about a 2-3 week turnaround time.
What is a price per square foot I can expect for a remodel or new build?
This is the hardest question to answer as it is so loaded. It depends on many factors that it is hard to give one answer. The short answer is for a new build in today’s market, for a basic, tract-home style, nothing fancy house will start at $250 per square foot. And it can go up very quickly from there.
Will there be any change orders once the job starts?
I try my best to bid a job as complete and as thorough as possible, that way the price I give you up front is what you can expect to pay. There are sometimes unforeseen factors that arise once we start, however. Water damage, mold, incorrect building practices prior to our arrival are just a few. I always keep the client informed to any and all changes and work with them to keep costs down.
How long will it take to complete my remodel?
This is another hard question to answer because every job is different. Some remodels are face lifts where we can be in and out in a couple of weeks. Other remodels are complete tear outs that can take 6 months or more. Just know that once we start a job, my crew and subcontractors will work diligently to complete your job in a timely manner.
Do you have your own crew?
Yes! I employ a crew that can complete everything needed on your remodel. On larger jobs such as a guest house, I use subcontractors. They are licensed professionals who know exactly what needs to be done and who can get it done effectively and quickly.
